One of the themes in this chapter is the king, his power and desires. A wise king uses his power well. To promote righteousness and scatter wickedness. Steadfast love and faithfulness are what bind people to him and him to his people.
We can learn wisdom from the king in how to wield authority but also understand how God uses his authority.
Therefore revenge is his and not ours.
